How are your Test Kits supplied? All of our research test kits are supplied on cold packs. Kits include the necessary reagents and complete instructions for performing the assay and interpreting the results.
How should your Test Kits be stored?Store all kits at 2 - 8°C. Do not freeze.
Are quantity discounts and automatic regular shipments offered for your Test Kits? Many options are available. Contact us for more information.
What equipment and materials will I need to perform the assay?Following is a list of equipment and materials that are required and not supplied:
• Microplate reader capable of absorbance readings at 450 nm and 650 nm• Pipettes and tips capable of delivering 2–20 μL and 200–1000 μL• Multichannel pipette and tips capable of delivering 100–300 μL• Dilution tubes for diluting samples and controls• 96 well dilution tube rack• Reagent reservoirs• Microplate washing system (optional)• 37°C incubator• Distilled or deionized water• 500 mL and 100 mL graduated cylinder or volumetric flask• Timer• Disinfectant: 0.5% sodium hypochlorite
How many samples can I test? One 96-well antigen-coated plate is supplied in each kit. The plate consists of 12 removable 8-well strips coated with whole viral extract. We recommend each run include duplicates of a Blank, Positive control, triplicates of a Negative Control, and test samples should be run in duplicates. If the entire plate is run at once,a total of 44 samples can be tested.
Can you detect antibodies to both latent and lytic phases of HHV-8? Our HHV-8ELISAKit utilizes purified whole HHV-8 virus extract as the coating antigen. Unlike other kits that use single viral protein as antigen, whole virus extract provides a complete collection of antigens, hence higher sensitivity (lower false negative) for HHV-8 antibody detection. Our kit will detect antibodies to both latent and lytic phases of HHV-8. In addition, our purified virus was prepared by Advanced Biotechnologies' superior purification process to minimize non-viral factors and provide high specificity.
